Even if you've sent postcards with other groups before, we’d love for new volunteers to check out our quick video on writing Reclaim Our Vote postcards.

It’s a great way to get to know our unique style and approach!

Be sure to check out our postcard guidelines as well.

2. New With Us?  Start with your Regional Organizer

Our postcard campaigns are supported by Regional Organizers around the country who are volunteers like you! They will tell you everything you need to know about obtaining addresses, supplies, best practices, and, where possible, connecting with other volunteers in your area.

New writers: contact your Regional Organizer for addresses and any additional support you may need in postcarding with the Center for Common Ground. Find your Regional Organizer by entering your zip code below:

Frequently Asked Questions

How are Reclaim Our Vote scripts written?

Our scripts are written in collaboration with local organizers of color in the communities we are writing to. Because of this we ask that you write out the script as is and do not make any changes.

How does Reclaim Our Vote choose its campaigns?

Reclaim Our Vote campaigns are non-partisan campaigns that focus on getting out the vote in states or districts with large number of Black voters for important state wide and federal races. Our goal is to mobilize voters to make their voices heard in elections.

Why handwritten postcards?

Think about it. When you look through your mail and see a white envelope that looks like everything else or a colorful eye catching postcard that has a handwritten note on it, which are you more likely to read? Our handwritten postcards are eye catching and more likely to be read than a typed letter delivered in an envelope.

Who provides postcards, stamps, and labels?

Generally, the answer is that the writer provides the cards, stamps, and labels.  In a few cases (some faith-based groups and/or packagers) materials are provided for writers. Order your postcard and stamps here.

Are Reclaim Our Vote postcards effective?

Yes! Postcarding increases voter engagement. Check out our impact in 2024:

Can I use other postcards?

NO. Reclaim Our Vote postcards are required if you are writing with us. We also ask that you do not use Reclaim our Vote postcards for other campaigns.
